hard at workThe title Taming Cynicism is inspired by Reinhold Niebuhr’s classic book Leaves From the Notebook of a Tamed Cynic. He explains that “it is no easy task to deal realistically with the moral confusion of our day, either in the pulpit or the pew, and avoid the appearance , the possibly the actual peril, of cynicism”. Personally, I have my disagreements with Niebuhr, but his words regarding the difficulty of approaching  tough moral questions stay with me everyday. The conflict between optimism and cold-hearted cynicism are a theme throughout much of my writing, just as it is in Niebuhr’s. This blog serves as a hub for my writings on other websites but will also include new material.
